Landmark decision in ‘bedroom tax’ battle
The Scottish Government has been urged to allocate an additional £20million to help people affected by the so-called bedroom tax.
Protesters gathered outside the Holyrood parliament yesterday to urge Finance Secretary John Swinney to make provision in his draft 2014-15 budget, which will be unveiled today.
Housing charity Shelter Scotland claims money to help councils top up their discretionary housing payments would help 7,000 more households facing benefit cuts.
