Vulnerable pupils hit by supply staff crisis
SOME of the north’s most vulnerable children are being deprived of specialist classroom help because of a chronic lack of supply teachers across the region.
Staff employed to support pupils with learning difficulties are being diverted to teach mainstream youngsters when no cover can be found.
And even schools in the Highland capital are struggling to attract enough temporary teachers to fill gaps caused by sick leave and training courses.
