Celts turn on the power to cruise past lacklustre Ajax
Celtic’s Champions League Group H campaign got up and running at the third time of asking after their 2-1 win against Dutch club Ajax at Parkhead.
A rather tame first 45 minutes ended in drama when James Forrest scored from the spot with two minutes remaining after Ajax defender Stefano Denswil had clattered Hoops attacker Anthony Stokes.
Midfielder Beram Kayal scored a second in the 54th minute with a deflected shot to give the home side a cushion.
