Abandoning Paisley monsoon match was a relief
Goalkeeper Mark Brown was relieved by the decision to abandon Saturday’s match against St Mirren with his side trailing 2-0 and claimed referee Willie Collum had no choice but to call off the contest.
The Staggies were trailing to first-half goals from Paul McGowan and Steven Thompson. But the game was abandoned seven minutes into the second half when the incessant rain made conditions too dangerous to continue.
It was a second successive abandoned match for the Staggies after last month’s Highland derby against rivals Caley Thistle was postponed after the floodlights at the Global Energy Stadium failed.
