Successor for Butcher might not be needed

Caley Thistle defender Graeme Shinnie claims the absence of a manager from Caledonian Stadium has had no effect on the squad.

Shinnie and his team-mates have been working without a manager for two weeks, but the full back, who deputised as captain in the absence of the suspended Richie Foran in Saturday’s 4-0 Scottish Cup win against Greenock Morton, insists the atmosphere at the club remains vibrant.

He said: “We’re in a good position and there is no reason to let the search for a new manager get to us.
