Golfer Paul Lawrie picks up OBE for charity work
The north-east’s top golfer was recognised for his charity work yesterday when he was made an OBE.
Former Open champion Paul Lawrie received the award for voluntary services to golf from Prince Charles at a ceremony at Buckingham Palace.
He was named in this year’s Queen’s Birthday honours list for his work with the Aberdeen-based Paul Lawrie Foundation, which he set up in 2001.
