Caley Jags’ Brill stalemate
Goalkeeper Dean Brill placed his faith in the Caley Thistle board to find the perfect replacement to Terry Butcher and he reckons they have got the right man in John Hughes.
Last month the goalkeeper signed a two-and-a-half year deal to stay at the club after negotiating his release from Luton Town. The contract was concluded in the final days of Butcher’s tenure at Caledonian Stadium and announced on the same day the former manager was confirmed as Pat Fenlon’s successor at Hibernian.
Brill knew Butcher was on his way out of the club but had no hesitation in signing a new deal, despite having no idea who was going to take charge at Inverness.
