North and north-east councils to share in £1.7billion of funding
Councils across the north and north-east will share more than £1.7billion to run their affairs next year.
The money is part of a total of £9.6billion in day-to-day funding allocated to Scotland’s 32 local authorities in the 2014-15 financial year.
Finance Secretary John Swinney said councils were being treated fairly but Labour described the local government settlement as “austerity plus”, while the Liberal Democrats complained that Aberdeen was being shortchanged.
