Third time lucky for Dons
It was third time lucky for Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes after finally landing Irish forward Adam Rooney yesterday.
The Dons manager had failed on two occasions to sign Rooney when in charge at St Johnstone, but managed to pip Scottish Premiership rivals Hibernian for the forward’s signature yesterday.
The former Stoke City, Caley Thistle and Birmingham City player had signed a two-year contract with Oldham Athletic in August, but the Boundary Park side released Rooney yesterday to allow him to return to Scotland.
