Poll shows massive opposition to road
AN OVERWHELMING majority of people living in the Elgin area do not believe the town’s controversial link road will have any economic benefit.
The £8.5million route – which would run from the west end of Elgin to New Elgin and link back to the A96 Inverness-Aberdeen road – has been widely criticised by outspoken local residents.
Moray Council, which has already spent at least £1.56million on the project’s development, claims it is needed for the economic prosperity of the town and the wider region.
