Councillors defy protesters as they back western link
Councillors voted yesterday to keep the controversial Elgin western link road project in the Moray local plan.
The £8.5million scheme has been the subject of determined opposition by locals.
Last month the council’s planning and regulatory services committee ruled that all reference to the road should be removed from the local plan, due to be published next year.
