Dambusters fly last Afghan tour

Britain’s most famous RAF squadron flew its final mission yesterday, marking the end of another chapter in its glorious career.

The Dambusters are best known for carrying out one of the most daring raids of World War II in the Lancaster bombers.

And yesterday – more than 70 years later – 617 Squadron flew in their Tornado GR4 aircraft for the last time, over the Afghan skies.
