Ben rutted but not gutted
Banchory’s Ben Kilner admitted he failed to perform but refused to blame conditions after his elimination from the Olympic snowboard halfpipe in Sochi.
Kilner, who finished 18th four years ago in Vancouver, struggled at the Rosa Khutor Extreme Park, with warm temperatures meaning rutted snow and plenty of fallers.
His top score of 43.50 ranked him 16th in his heat, meaning, like British team-mate Dom Harington, he didn’t progress to compete in the semis.
