Dons happy to win ugly

Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield was delighted to win ugly at Paisley on Saturday, the 1-0 win against St Mirren keeping the Dons in second place in the Scottish Premiership after Adam Rooney’s late penalty winner.

It was far from attractive but, with an impressive 12 Aberdeen away wins in all competitions this season, Langfield was happy to put substance ahead of style on this occasion.

The Dons have kept 17 clean sheets throughout the campaign and Langfield said: “To get the win was a huge lift for us.
