The League Cup finalists had expected to be too strong for a Jags side which had not won at home this season but the Firhill men emerged victorious.
Conrad Balatoni and Lyle Taylor gave Alan Archibald’s side the lead after Barry Robson had a penalty saved. Adam Rooney pulled one back with his fourth goal in five matches but Taylor made certain of the victory with his second of the match.
