Stunning Torridon

A STUNNING photograph of upper Loch Torridon in Wester Ross has been drawing admiring glances – in London. The picture was the lead-in image for a South Bank exhibition, Britain on View, which featured images of beautiful landscapes and cinematic countryside.
Other Scottish images featured at the exhibition included Tyndrum, near Stirling, Scott’s View at Bemersyde in the Scottish Borders, Merkland Point, in Arran, Rannoch Moor, in Perth and Kinross, and Buachaille Etive Mor, near Glencoe.
Dan Rose-Bristow, owner of The Torridon, which offers luxury accommodation, fine dining and outdoor activity options located at the head of Upper Loch Torridon, said: “We’re delighted to learn that such a spectacular Scottish view was chosen for the main poster promotions for the Britain on View exhibition in London.
“The scenery is one of our strongest selling points in Wester Ross, and we hope the exhibition will help persuade visitors to come to the area and discover that the location in the poster looks even better in reality.”
The Torridon area (consisting of Loch Torridon and the smaller Loch Shieldaig) is around 50 miles from Inverness. The area is popular with climbers, photographers, wildlife enthusiasts and hikers and attracts an endless stream of overseas visitors keen to see for themselves some of the finest scenery in Europe.
The area is rich in wildlife, too, with red deer, golden eagles and the elusive pine marten making regular appearances.
