A PIONEERING Aberdeen recruitment company, Strategic Resources, has celebrated 20 years in business by planting 200 trees to create a haven encouraging local biodiversity at Inver, Aberdeenshire.

The project, which has been carried out in partnership with the Forestry Commission, Scotland, will create new woodland designed to support Aberdeenshire’s natural environment.

Shonah Raffan, managing director of Strategic Resources, is passionate about the company doing its bit for the environment.

She said: “We have built up a strong business over the years and have always had a commitment to the environment and local causes.

“We felt that our 20th anniversary was a perfect time to do something really special that would highlight our ‘can do’ culture and also be a gigantic thank you to everyone who has contributed to our success.”

Liz Shortall, of the Forestry Commission in Aberdeenshire, added: “We were delighted to assist Strategic Resources with their great idea and our site management will ensure that the new woodland thrives and matures.

“The new planting will benefit wildlife and will also present people with an opportunity to feel part of a great project. We are all looking forward to seeing this new woodland develop.”

The new woodland will support the Aspens for Butterflies Project. The company also promotes worldwide environmental and conservation issues.
