THE social enterprise charity, Aberdeen Foyer, was given a five-star billing by First Minister Alex Salmond when he addressed its annual investors’ dinner.
He praised the strides Foyer has made in the city and the north-east in tackling the blight of youth homelessness and unemployment over more than a decade.
Foyer chief executive, Ken Milroy, who had flown in from Finland on the day of the dinner in Foyer’s own restaurant in Crown Street, also spoke of Foyer’s many other initiatives, including the sale of 88,000 scoops of Ben and Jerry’s ice cream at a Partnershop in Aberdeen’s Bon Accord Centre.
Ron Cookson, chief executive of dinner sponsors Technip, praised the charity for its professionalism in making its supporters feel valued.
