Banned Broch manager will have to stand it at Wick

FRASERBURGH manager Charlie Duncan will be in the stand for today’s Highland League match against Wick Academy at Harmsworth Park after being hit by an eight-match touchline ban.

Duncan was reported by the assistant referee, under instruction from match official Cammy Mackay, for remarks made to a Lossiemouth player during the Broch’s game with the Coasters at Bellslea on March 22.

Wick go into today’s game against Fraserburgh without influential midfielder Gary Farquhar.

His place is likely to go to Martin Gunn, who missed last week’s 3-2 win over Deveronvale.

Wick goalkeeper Don MacMillan faces a late test while it remains to be seen if new dad Alex Lamb will be available.

Stewart Ross and Stuart Sinclair are definitely out.

Broch’s long-serving midfield man Kevin Norris will make the trip, having recovered from his dislocated shoulder. But John Ross is still on the injured list.

A point would be good enough to see Rothes leap-frog Lossiemouth into 12th spot in the table, although Speysiders manager Rab Mulheron will be looking for all three at home to bottom club Fort William.

The Mackessack Park club will be without its three Dufftown trialists – Mark Hector, Stuart Allan and Paul Winton – for this one. They will be playing in the junior club’s final fixture of the season.

But Chris Grant, Grant Milne, Graham Bain and Chris Henderson all return to swell the Rothes ranks.

Fort will hope to stem the tide after losing 13-0 to Inverurie Locos last weekend.

Huntly have extended skipper Mike Morrison’s contract by two years, keeping the central defender at Christie Park until at least 2011.

Deveronvale have placed former Buckie Thistle defender Greig Pirie on the transfer list at his own request. The Banff club would accept a nominal fee and a player-swap would also be considered.
