Glengarry and Lochaber progress in cup tourneys

NORTH teams booked places in the June 15 semi-finals of the Camanachd Cup and the quarter-finals of the Challenge Cup.
First Division leaders Glengarry eased past Glenorchy 6-0 in the Camanachd Cup first-round tie at Invergarry, Fiona Cumming leading the way with a hat-trick.
In the opening round of the Division 2 Challenge Cup, Lochaber registered their first competitive victory in style when they beat Tir Conaill Harps 7-1 in Glasgow. Cup holders Strathglass eventually overcame stubborn resistance from an improving Aberdeen University side to run out 2-0 winners at Cannich.
In South Division 2 Dunadd marked their first appearance since rejoining the women’s leagues with a 4-0 victory against Inveraray at Lochgilplhead.

CHALLENGE CUP – First round: Badenoch and Strathspey wo, Kintyre scr; Strathglass 2, Aberdeen University 0; Tir Conaill Harps 1, Lochaber 7. South Division 2: Dunadd 4, Inveraray 0.
The leading two teams meet head on in National Division 1 on Sunday when Glengarry put their 100% record on the line against Tir Conaill Harps at Invergarry.
SUNDAY – National Division 1: Glengarry v Tir Conaill Harps, Glenorchy v Forth.
South Division 2: Glasgow Mid-Argyll v Cowal and Bute, Inveraray v Kintyre.
