Disappointment, but . . .
Gers can hold their heads high
Published:
RANGERS may have lost the Uefa Cup last night in Manchester, but they won the respect of European football with their display on the pitch and the loyal backing of their fans.
This season has been a triumph for Rangers, no matter how many of the remaining competitions they go on to win.
Many teams in Scotland, Aberdeen in particular, have a difficult relationship with Rangers. For one night at least, though, all of Scotland should salute the achievements of the Glasgow team.
The cup might be heading to Russia, but Manchester belongs to Glasgow.

What a bunch of sanctimonious drivel. Once again their fans have SHAMED the good name of Scotland and should be banned from Europe. The SFA as well as Uefa will no doubt, with the help of Gordon Smith, sweep it under the rug. Their football on display was shocking enough, but the predictable behavour of their fans was a total embarrassement to Scotland. Shame, shame on Rangers football club.
