Turriff and Dyce go for cup glory but Dee could also pop the champagne

Published:

TURRIFF United meet Dyce in the final of the Norsco Regional Cup at Maud’s Pleasure Park tonight.

The game kicks off at 7.15 with penalties at 90 minutes if required.

Heathryfold will house the biggest crowd of the season tomorrow when Sunnybank host Banks o’ Dee in what could prove to be a Superleague title decider.

Victory for Dee will confirm them as champions.

They are six points clear of their rivals with two games remaining.

Bank have three games remaining so anything other than an away win will mean the champagne stays on ice.

Dee manager Gary Welsh said: “It’s a cup final from our perspective as we know if we win, we’re the champions.

“Richard Stainer and Gordon Carstairs are rated 50-50, while it’s a real boost to have young full back Craig Phillips back again.

“There will be good support for both teams and it should be a great atmosphere.”

A draw would leave Dee requiring a point from their last match at Culter.

Sunnybank have a superior goal difference and a win would leave them knowing victories at home to Formartine United and away to Turriff United would land them the title.

At Crombie Park, Culter face Longside, while Glentanar travel to Forres Thistle in the First Division’s only game.

Ellon United meet Stonehaven at The Meadows in the last four of the ATR Group Cup, with Sunnybank awaiting the winners in the final on Friday, May 30.
