HARRIET Graham’s Russian Sky (6-1) lifted the £9,000 Royal Bank of Scotland Handicap Chase in great style in front of a 3,000 crowd at Perth yesterday.
Russian Sky stayed on strongly to beat Caithness owner Raymond Green’s Paddy The Piper (13-2) by four lengths with Lucinda Russell’s Catch The Perk (5-1) third.
“Russian Sky is a star for me and Tom Messenger gave him a great ride,” said elated Jedburgh-based Graham.
Russell celebrated her third success at the two-day fixture as Storm Prospect (11-4) scored for the Kinross yard.
Ulster raider Carrick Dhu (15-8) gained a deserved victory in the opener and Always Right (11-8 fav) bolted up in the novices’ hunters’ chase.
Irish legend Charlie Swan saddled his first Perth winner, Schofield (9-2), in the closing bumper.
The colt won by a head after fighting it out to the line with Aidan O'Brien's Frozen Fire.
Favourite Twice Over was well beaten in third.
