Stripper set for court again

Police charge him with breach of the peace

AN ABERDEEN stripper cleared of carrying an offensive weapon in public is to appear in court again after he was arrested.

Stuart Kennedy, who performs under the name of Sergeant Eros, now faces a breach of the peace charge.

He was arrested while wearing soldier-style camouflage, a beret and body armour that was branded with alphamalestrippers.co.uk in the city’s Belmont Street early on Sunday. He was between performances and was on his way to meet a friend when stopped by police outside a nightclub.

Mr Kennedy was cleared of carrying offensive weapons in a public place after a trial last year.

He had been dressed as a police officer for a job and his case was thrown out at Aberdeen Sheriff Court after it was ruled he had a “reasonable excuse” to carry the batons and spray.

Appeal judges backed the decision last month and the Crown Office then dropped charges against Mr Kennedy for a case that had been due to call on May 12.

The 25-year-old student is to appear at the city’s sheriff court on June 12.

A police spokeswoman said: “Grampian Police can confirm that a 25-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal in connection with an alleged breach of the peace on Aberdeen’s Belmont Street in the early hours of May 18.”
