Premiere fashion in silver city
Finally women all around the UK can breathe a sigh of relief as the long awaited Sex and the City movie finally hit the country’s cinema screens this week. Your Style gets some inspiration from local stylist Danit Levi

WHILE aficionados of the popular US series were avidly following leading lady Carrie Bradshaw’s love life and eager to find out whether she finally gets her Mr Big down the aisle, you don’t have to be an avid fan to be inspired by the show’s fabulous fashions, which have sparked trends from chic designer bags to nameplate necklaces.
The exciting news that SATC stylist Patricia Field is to create a fashion range for Marks and Spencer (available in October) has set hearts fluttering and credit cards at the ready among Scottish fashionistas.
Danit Levi, the Aberdeen-based stylist of Dress Your Way, attended the charity premiere in Aberdeen on Wednesday and picked out some fearlessly fashionable local ladies – who proved that style is not necessarily about being head to toe in designer labels. Indeed, the real art of being stylish is to mix up designer with high street and add a huge dose of confidence:
“From the moment SATC hit our screens almost 10 years ago, it has been a huge influence in the fashion stakes” says Danit Levi. “Today, the lead actresses range from their early 40s to just over 50 – each with their own distinctive and unique style and that style has evolved along with their character.”
Having lived and worked in New York and Chicago as well as Scotland, Danit has put together looks for women of all ages, shapes and sizes for all occasions and encourages individuality: “Whether I am dressing a celebrity for the Baftas or a young woman starting up in business, the key is to get to know them personally, understand what motivates them and who they are and then tell their story in the clothes that they wear. The SATC girls did this perfectly.”
Your Style asked Danit to select some favourite outfits from the trend-setting premiere guests that would transport easily from the Granite City to the Big Apple.
