ENTERTAINER Paul Daniels brought a little bit of magic to the streets of Aberdeen on a visit to the city yesterday.
The magician, who at the height of his fame attracted millions of viewers each week with his Saturday night TV show, was delighted to be in the Granite City before going on tour later this year.
He said: “It has been too long since I have been in Aberdeen. It is sadly just a flying visit, but I have fond memories of performing at the HM Theatre here, and I always have fun in Aberdeen.”
Daniels will appear with the Krankies, Cannon and Ball, Frank Carson, Jimmy Cricket and Brotherhood of Man in the Best of British Variety Tour which starts in August.
Speaking before opening a fireplace showroom in Aberdeen, the entertainer said he was looking forward to the tour, but enjoyed the smaller events too.
He said of yesterday’s engagement: “It is good being back doing smaller gigs, especially before a big tour like the one coming up. I really like performing with small audiences that are so close you can touch them.”
