AN ABERDEEN mother has cooked up an innovative way of getting parents to hone their culinary skills while raising money for charity.
Stephanie Scott, 32, of Broomhill Road, has created a book of recipes for child cuisine with proceeds being donated to the National Childbirth Trust.
The full-time mother-of-two, an active member of the local trust committee, began work on the book in January, having consulted fellow parents for ideas.
“I wanted to create something different to help to raise funds for my local branch of the trust and felt a cookbook would be useful to parents,” said Mrs Scott.
“I asked friends and colleagues from all over the area for their favourite recipes, the ones they cook with and for their children.
“We have a wide range of tasty treats in the book.”
The project is being sponsored by local butchers J. Barber and Sons which has covered printing costs.
The trust provides support and information on pregnancy, birth and parenthood, and £50 raised by the group provides 10 hours of support to new mums at their local branch while £120 pays for a six-week course for one trust antenatal teacher and £225 funds five hours of antenatal classes for young parents.
Mrs Scott’s cookbook is on sale now and available directly from her by calling 01224 580563.
