There’s no stopping record-breaker Hannah

HANNAH McCook, 14, has broken a 13-year course record at Grantown golf club.

The Nethy Bridge girl shot an eagle, three birdies and two bogeys to score a gross 69 which broke the previous record of 70 which was set by Grantown member Maggie Lawson in 1995.

She completed the first nine holes on par 37 and came back three-under-par in 32. The Grantown mem- ber, who also receives coaching at the club, won the women’s scratch champion-ship last month and took four off the Abernethy course record with a gross 73 in a women’s competition recently.

She said: “I am absolutely delighted to break the course record – it is the aim of every golfer.

“I certainly wasn’t expecting it, but it is always the kind of thing you hope for.”
