A ring with a difference

ORTAK has launched a bespoke ring design service allowing savvy shoppers to turn jewellery designers and create their own one-of-a-kind pieces for the first time.

The service will add a sense of individuality to ring shopping, which as any girl will profess is one of the most important shopping trips she is ever likely to make.

Brides and bridegrooms-to-be or shoppers looking for that extra special gift can simply contact Ortak with an idea of their dream ring and Ortak will bring it to life thanks to a detailed computer-generated image of the piece. Scotland’s top jewellery designers at Ortak will then manufacture the rings in Orkney using a skilled gold or silversmithery process as well as the latest CAD (computer-aided design) technology.

Ortak has introduced the bespoke service on to the market as a result of overwhelming demand from customers searching for more individual and bespoke items.

Ortak retail director, Yvonne Carr, said: “As people increasingly strive for more individuality than the high street allows and as the bespoke wedding becomes a popular choice, there is a demand from discerning shoppers to have an element of control, especially with cherished items such as wedding rings and special gifts for loved ones. We only introduce limited numbers of our pieces into our stores.

“And our new ring design service will give people the option for that extra-special piece.”

From traditional bands to contemporary enamelled sculptural rings; from silver and white or yellow gold to platinum and from semi-precious stones such as amethyst, blue topaz and black onyx to the most sparkling of diamonds, the design possibilities at Ortak are endless.
