CROWDS turned out yesterday afternoon at Findhorn’s two piers for the community’s annual fair and raft race.

Entertainment from stalls, games and a demonstration by Invergordon Lifeboat ensured a good turnout at the event, which is organised by Findhorn Residents’ Association and the Royal National Lifeboat Institution.

Among those attending was Hannah Jenner who was the skipper of the Glasgow: Scotland during this year’s Clipper 07-08 round the world yacht race.

Ms Jenner, 26, from Hampshire, officially opened the fair and raft race, and presented a cheque for £10,000 to the RNLI, which was raised through the sale of a unique series of whisky from the race’s sponsor, Benromach Distillery.

All proceeds raised by the association from the fair will go towards funding community projects in the village.

Association chairman Robbie Shand said: “It’s been a cracking day.”
