You have to admire the boys in blue

YOU have to admire policing in the face of overwhelming odds and against a foe determined to ignore warnings. So it is with the Tartan Army who will be on the march to Hampden Park this weekend for the World Cup qualifying match against Norway.

Officers from all eight Scottish forces have joined with British Transport Police to crack down on supporters who have been drinking excessively and are rowdy.

It is an admirable but formidable challenge and one that, unfortunately, the foot-soldiers will probably ignore. Still, they have been warned.
