TWO Aberdeenshire marksmen are celebrating after being crowned Scottish champions in their clay pigeon shooting disciplines.
Lewis Greenhowe, 18, from Udny Green clinched the junior allround title at the Auchterhouse range in Angus..
Methlick’s Aaron Wallace, 17, had led the way by clinching the national junior Fitasc crown last month at Lindertis Woods in Perthshire.
Greenhowe, an apprentice engineer, and Wallace, a student at Edinburgh University, shoot together at the Kingscliff Sporting Lodge in Methlick.
Both will be back in action on Saturday in a Scottish Clay Target Association selection shoot at Aucherthouse.
In senior competition, Glenkindie’s Shona Marshall confirmed the north-east’s domination of the sport when she clinched the women’s title in the European division of the Commonwealth Shooting Federation champion-ships in Gibraltar last month. She was one of four Scottish medal winners.
