Farm campaign gets boost

THE campaign to keep Doonies Farm, on the outskirts of Aberdeen, in business received a welcome boost at a dinner-dance in the city’s Copthorne Hotel.
It was organised by the Friends of Doonies, who have been meeting since February and hope to lease the farm from Aberdeen City Council.
The event raised £3,200, including a £2,000 donation from Aberdeen oil and gas consultancy Xodus.
“My kids just love the place. It is definitely worth keeping,” said managing director Colin Manson.
A ceilidh is being held tonight at Altens community centre, Aberdeen.
