ARBROATH manager John McGlashan will not change his philosophy in the face of his side’s worrying slump in the Second Division.
The Red Lichties prop up the table after a hat-trick of defeats.
McGlashan insists he has been heartened by aspects of his side’s performances and will continue to urge his men to attack.
He said: “We could go for damage limitation, play five midfielders sitting in front of the defence and one forward ploughing a lone furrow up front. In fact we’re a million miles away from doing that.
“I take encouragement from the fact that we have competed in every game we have played this season. We have not been totally outplayed by any team.
“In terms of effort and commitment, Arbroath are second to nobody in our league. If we continue to apply ourselves in the same way the breaks will come and we will turned the corner. I have no doubt about that at all.”
Arbroath entertain third-placed Ayr United at Gayfield as they look to bounce back from the disappointment of last weekend’s 3-2 defeat at East Fife, when the hosts snatched a late winner.
Stirling Albion manager Allan Moore has urged his side to take the chances they are creating or say goodbye to any hopes of promotion.
The Binos have drawn four and lost one of their last five matches and desperately need three points against Stranraer this afternoon if they are to continue their quest for a play-off spot.
Alloa manager Allan Maitland believes going back to basics has helped turn around the club's fortunes.
The Wasps are looking to build on their run at Raith today.
