Result flattering but we’ll take it

IT WAS a relief in the end. We have played a lot better and lost games.
As expected St Mirren were very organised and they gave us a problem with their personnel. We used Sone Aluko in the hole, he has played there for England youth teams, but our passing was poor.
Their passing was better but they did not create many chances either and it looked like a 0-0 which would have frustrated everybody. It was going to take something special and we got that.
I thought we were going to blow our chance of getting back into the top six, but it was great vision from Mark Kerr and a great strike from Andrew Considine and there is no one else you want to be through on goal other than Aluko. He is very calm in those situations.
The result was flattering, but we will take it. We are up to fourth, albeit before tonight's matches, but, hopefully, we will still be in the top six. It is certainly better than being bottom.
You want to win with flair, but teams are coming here and making it difficult for us.
We have to combat that, but we have now won two home games after the bad start we had.
We have two tough away games now at Hibs and Rangers and if we play the way we did in the second half at Dundee United we will have every chance of picking up points.
