Tartan Tour pros need to finish in style

SCOTLAND'S Tartan Tour professionals need to produce a final-day charge if they are to claim a seventh PGA of Europe Team championship title at the Roda club in Murcia, Spain.
The trio of Sam Cairns, Robert Arnott and Gordon Law posted a two-under 142 on day three to remain in second place but their six-under aggregate of 426 left them 10 shots behind leaders Ireland, who surged away with a third round tally of 135 for an aggregate of 416.
Scotland, who last won the European title in 2006, had been just three shots off the pace at the start of play but, despite a pair of 71s from Cairns and Arnott, they slipped off the pace as 1998 winners Ireland fired a nine-under score after a 67 from Robert Giles and a 68 by John Kelly.
England are third on 433 after a 138.
