A NORTH-EAST band has launched its debut album after a year of performing at venues and festivals across Scotland.
Newburgh five-piece Deviltrain unveiled Tracks From Hell at an event in Aberdeen’s Tunnels on Saturday.
The band also used the gig to introduce the latest addition to the group, fiddler Carmen Higgins.
The other band members are Billy Sangster on double bass and vocals, Scott Baxter on guitar and vocals, percussionist Angus McCurrach and Cameron Fyffe, the band’s mandolin and harmonica player. Mr Baxter said: “It was an excellent night, the place was packed out.
“Our music is a mixture of a lot of things, including rock, folk, country, funk and reggae.
“We are not really sure ourselves what it is exactly, but it seems to work and this year has been pretty busy. Hopefully we will be just as busy in the new year as well.”
Deviltrain, who this year played at the Wizard Festival, Tartan Heart festival and Feughfest, were supported at the launch event by fellow north-east bands the Oxbow Lake Orchestra and the Woodland Roots Orchestra.
The band’s album is available to buy on iTunes.
