Paterson out for repeat show

Edinburgh’s Chris Paterson is aiming to repeat the greatest moment of his Heineken Cup career in tomorrow’s match against English club Wasps.
Scotland’s record points scorer captained his club to a thrilling 32-31 victory against the three-time European champions in a group game three years ago and knows replicating the result would keep Edinburgh’s quarter- final bid on track this season.
Paterson, who became the first Scot to reach 50 European appearances during last month’s vital victory at Castres, said: “The win against Wasps was the highlight of my Heineken Cup career so far, everything just went brilliantly. Wasps went into the game as favourites but we just made good decisions.
“We kicked well, put them under pressure and, as the game went on, we grew in stature. Simon Webster scoring the winning try with about two minutes to go made it a very special day.
“This time, it is another very big game and it is almost a Test fixture with both teams being full of internationals. But if we can get our decision-making right and play with confidence then there is no reason why we can’t win.”
Head coach Andy Robinson has made one change to the starting line-up after the win against Ospreys in the Magners League last Friday, with lock Jim Hamilton replacing Ben Gissing in the second row.
Hamilton’s return after being rested boosts the number of Scotland internationals in Edinburgh’s starting line-up to 12, with outside centre Ben Cairns given the all-clear to play after recovering from a dead leg. As a result, Cairns will make his 50th appearance for the club.
