Motorists have their say in cyberspace

Published: 04/12/2008

THE social-networking phenomenon has now taken a new direction with the launch of a website for drivers impressed by the wheels or the personalised number plates of their fellow-motorists.

Drivers memorise any car or plate that catches their eye and then send the owner a text via the MYPL8 site.

Sounds fine in principle, but it is not hard to imagine some of the texts which will fly through cyberspace from motorists angered by someone they feel is driving too fast, too slow or carelessly.

Road rage: coming to a screen near you soon.
