Ten-man Aberdeen came from behind to defeat Celtic 2-1 in an ill-tempered encounter at Pittodrie.
Leigh Griffiths had put Celtic in front 10 minutes before the break from the penalty spot before Adam Rooney restored parity from the spot after 56 minutes after Graeme Shinnie was fouled by Dedryck Boyata.
The Dons were reduced to 10 men after 72 minutes when Jonny Hayes was shown a straight red for a challenge on Mikael Lustig.
But, despite their numerical disadvantage, Paul Quinn smashed home the winner four minutes from time.
It is the first time in Aberdeen’s history that they have started the season with six successive wins.
The Dons, who went into the match having won their five opening matches in the Scottish Premiership, made only one alteration from the side that won 2-0 at Partick Thistle with Paul Quinn replacing David Goodwillie.
Celtic handed a debut to on-loan Manchester United defender Tyler Blackett in place of Virgil van Dijk, who joined Southampton on transfer deadline day but there was no place in the squad for new signing Jozo Simunovic.
There were also starts for Mikael Lustig, Charlie Mulgrew and Stefan Johansen as the Hoops made four changes to the side that started in the 3-1 home win against St Johnstone.
The Dons survived an early scare inside two minutes when Andrew Considine was woefully short with a back-pass but Tom Rogic was unable to capitalise, denied by alert Aberdeen goalkeeper Danny Ward.
The hosts soon started to make an impression on the match with Considine crossing for former Celt Niall McGinn whose effort flew high and wide.
There was another let-off for Aberdeen after 18 minutes when a Leigh Griffiths free kick deflected off the Dons wall and struck the crossbar.
Considine went close at the other end moments later, heading over from a Jonny Hayes corner as the game ebbed and flowed at a decent tempo.
But, after a promising period of Aberdeen pressure, Celtic were given the chance to take the lead when Considine, who was caught on the wrong side of Griffiths and was penalised for a pull on the Celtic attacker as he was about to pull the trigger.
Griffiths dusted himself down before slotting the spot-kick beyond Ward.
The Dons should have equalised three minutes before the break when Hayes found the unmarked McLean six yards from goal but the former St Mirren midfielder somehow failed to connect.
McLean looked fortunate to avoid punishment for appearing to kick Lustig while he was on the ground before the Dons were denied a penalty after Mulgrew looked to have handled a Shay Logan cross.
But the Dons were awarded a spot-kick after 56 minutes when Dedryck Boyata needlessly barged over Graeme Shinnie.
And Adam Rooney calmly rolled the ball into the corner of the net from the penalty spot to net his fifth goal of the season.
Then, with Aberdeen on top and pressing for a second, they were reduced to 10 men when Hayes was shown a straight red for a sliding challenge on Lustig.
But the Dons continued to push forward for a winner and they were rewarded four minutes from time when Quinn turned home a Niall McGinn free kick.
The Hoops almost equalised at the death but Considine managed to clear a Griffiths effort off the line.
