Broadcaster Greg James battled through blizzards to scale England’s highest mountain.
The Radio 1 DJ and presenter ascended Scafell Pike as part of his Sport Relief three-peak fundraising challenge despite the treacherous conditions.
James is attempting to scale the UK’s three peaks and cycle the distances between them after setting off on Monday.
£214,000 and counting. Blown away. Almost literally at one point. That was intense up there…quick cycle now and on the show ASAP!

He labelled Scafell Pike – the second of his three summits – the “most ridiculous thing” he has ever done.
“I feel really, really broken. My muscles are really aching, I feel quite dizzy and light headed – we climbed 950m.
“The snow was up to my knees, it was completely ludicrous. My feet were going in and the snow was going over my knees – it felt like I couldn’t do it but somehow I got to the top,” he added.
This is so difficult. But it’s all so worth it. The donations are now over £127,534. Thank you for spreading the word and getting in touch with your stories of over coming some of the issues we’re talking about. The challenge, labelled Radio 1’s Gregathlon: Pedal To The Peaks, also sees James continue to keep up his presenting duties as he takes breaks for his own live show each day alongside on-the-road co-host Adele Roberts.
Sport Relief trainer Greg Whyte said it was the “worst weather” ever experienced on a Sport Relief challenge.
A walker is reported to have died last week after a fall on Scafell Pike.
