Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Erykah Badu is to headline this year’s Field Day festival.
The acclaimed US songstress will join the likes of south London rapper Loyle Carner, prolific hip-hop producer Madlib, and jazz singer-songwriter Thundercat at the expanded two-day festival in the capital’s Brockwell Park.
It comes one year after Badu’s seminal debut album Baduizm celebrated its 20th anniversary and will be her only festival performance in the UK in 2018.
US rapper Princess Nokia, Jordan Rakei, Fever Ray, former Odd Future collaborator Earl Sweatshirt, producer Four Tet, Mercury nominated The Comet Is Coming, jazz group Ezra Collective and London grime star AJ Tracey will also perform alongside MCs from fictional radio station Kurupt FM.
This year marks the festival’s first in Brockwell Park in Lambeth after its previous home, east London’s Victoria Park, handed exclusive rights to new London event All Points East.
Field Day takes Place June 1 and 2.
