Music stars expected to show support for Time’s Up at Brit Awards

Music stars will emulate their film colleagues on Wednesday night as anti-sexual harassment movement Time’s Up arrives at the Brit Awards.

Attendees will be given a white rose badge before they take to the red carpet in the latest award show protest since the Harvey Weinstein scandal rocked Hollywood last year.

It could be a night to remember for emergent pop star Dua Lipa who leads the pack with five nomination while singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran is also being backed for success following a stellar 2017.

The guitarist – who recently announced his engagement to girlfriend Cherry Seaborn – is up for best British album for smash-hit record Divide which recently completed its 50th week in top 10 of the UK album charts.

He will compete with four debut albums for the prize with Stormzy, J Hus, Lipa and Rag’N’Bone Man also nominated for the night’s biggest prize.

Hosted by Jack Whitehall, an array of artists will take to the stage at London’s O2 Arena to perform during the live ITV broadcast including Justin Timberlake, Foo Fighters, Stormzy and Sheeran.

Lipa, Jorja Smith, Rag’N’Bone Man and Rita Ora and Liam Payne will also perform.

The white pin protest comes after Sunday night’s Bafta Film Awards where the red carpet was turned black in an orchestrated move which also saw activists join stars at the event.
