Brit Awards red carpet presenter Yasmin Evans was forced to apologise for bad language on the event live feed after a chat with Lily Allen.

The presenting team of Evans and Jamie Laing welcomed Allen on the red carpet and asked her about her experiences at the Brits.

Allen won an award in 2010 and made a dramatic entrance to the award show, flying in on a glittery rocket, then negotiating a staircase and army-themed dancers.

She said “There were these soldiers that looked like penises”, to which Evans even replied “it sounds like a dream I had”.

Allen spoke of her trying not to slip on the staircase, saying: “I flew on this rocket. I was s******* myself.”

The verbal slip prompted a swift apology from Evans as Allen covered her mouth with her hand.

Another apology was prompted soon afterwards, when nominee Lewis Capaldi told Laing: “Your stock is f****** through the roof.”

He was then asked if he had been drinking, to which he said he was sober, adding “but if you’re talking about narcotics, I’ve had loads.”

Evans scrambled to clarify that the singer was joking in a direct address to camera.
