Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington says he experienced “grief” after filming the end of the show.

The final series of the TV blockbuster airs in April.

And Harington, 32, told The Zoe Ball Breakfast Show: “It’s weird walking around with this big secret. We know how it all wraps up, how it ends.

“It’s like when you finish a good book, you’re not happy it’s over… You have this grief that it’s over and that’s exactly the same with …  doing this show…

“There’s this loss around it”, he said, adding that he was “maybe not happy but very satisfied”.

Harington, who plays Jon Snow in the epic fantasy drama, returns alongside Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams and Lena Headey in the final series, after a near two-year wait.

“I’m so excited for people to see it… Hopefully it will change TV again like it did originally and break boundaries,” he told the Radio 2 show.

A trailer for the new series showed Harington’s alter ego confronted with a statue which appears to be his own image.

The actor told Ball: “I kept that statue… the one in the crypt. They sent it to my house. I’ve got it in my shed. How sad is that?

“I was the only one who kept that statue, that’s how narcissistic I am. I’m going to turn it into a water feature.”

Game Of Thrones was adapted from the novels by George RR Martin and first aired in 2011.
