A number of breeders from the north and north-east have been recognised in the Scottish Limousin Club’s herd competition for 2017.

The judge for the annual contest was Henry Savage who runs the Trueman herd at Newry, County Down, Northern Ireland.

The supreme champion herd title went to Ian and Wendy Callion’s Lodge herd, which is based at Bolfornought on the outskirts of Stirling. The couple took the top title after leading the charge in the medium-sized herd, and coming out top for the best heifer and best bull born in 2016.

They led the heifer section with Lodge Maria, by Lodge Hydro and out of Lodge Helena. Their bull section leader was Lodge Mo, by Lodge Hamlet and out of Lodge Indie.
