John Deere release new 3R and 4R series tractors

John Deere has replaced the 3020 and 4020 series tractors with new mid-chassis 3R Series and large-chassis 4R Series compact models.

The 2014 models come equipped with John Deere’s automatic eHydro transmission and feature three or four cylinder Yanmar diesel engines from 33-66hp.

The eHydro transmission also boasts three performance enhancing features – the LoadMatch, MotionMatch and SpeedMatch settings – which allow the tractors to perform in a range of challenging situations.

The LoadMatch feature is designed to automatically adjust the machine speed to the engine load for maximum performance without stalling the engine, which is useful when moving heavy loads or mowing thick grass.

The MotionMatch feature adjusts the transmission response instantly to the task at hand, ideal for front loader work for example.

Finally the SpeedMatch feature allows the operator to preset a maximum speed when the pedal is fully depressed, which is useful when operating rear mounted implements.

The standard joystick control is also available to operate mounted implements such as the new H Series front loader and front hitch with pto – also on offer from John Deere.

The 3R Series models are already fitted with rear and mid mounted ptos for a range of implements and attachments.

Noise levels will be kept down to 79dB(A) due to the ComfortGuard cab that is standard on the 4 Series and optional on the 3 Series. The cab is designed for maximum visibility and comfort.

The machinery giant says the H165 (3R) and H180 (4R) front loaders are designed to be easy to attach and remove, and feature a lift capacity of 964 or 1263kg and lift height of 2.6 or 2.8m.

John Deere’s Hitch Assist system, which is standard on the 4 Series models, make use of the rear hitch quicker, easier and safer, meaning that the operator only has to leave the tractor seat once.

The tractor’s rear linkage lift capacity is 1148 or 1420kg and towing capacity is 4000 or 5000kg respectively for the 3R and 4R series models.

UK list prices start at £20,592 for the 3033R model and £29,670 for the 4049R.
