Continental breeds swept the board in the beef and sheep interbreed competitions at the Keith Show.

In the beef lines, the supreme title was awarded to a Simmental bull that has taken the show circuit by storm this summer.

Put forward by Jimmy and Iain Green of Corskie Farm, Garmouth, Fochabers, the bull holds the record for being the highest price Simmental ever bought in the UK.

The Greens paid 45,000gn for Bel Dhu Capercaillie in Stirling in February 2013.

He was bred by Billy and Anne Macpherson, of Blackford, Croy, Inverness.

He is by Hockenhull Waterloo and out of Blackford Wagtail.

His Keith win follows taking the interbreed champion title at Echt, reserve interbreed at the Black Isle and breed championship rosettes at New Deer, Nairn and Turriff.

Standing in reserve was the Limousin champion from the Irvine family who run the Anside herd at Brahead, Drummuir, Keith. The January-2014 born bull Gunnerfleet Joplin is one of the first sons of Maraiscote Graffiti and out of Gunnerfleet Fortunas.

He also stood junior champion at Keith yesterday and stood reserve at Turriff last week.

Over in the sheep rings the supreme title was awarded to the Beltex champion from Ross and Kirsty Williams at Upper Tullochbeg Farm, Huntly.

They took the top title with a gimmer called Blackjack Whisky.

This one has show-winning success in her blood and is by the 2011 Royal Highland Show champion Loandhu Percy Pig and out of a previous show gimmer called Blackjack Speyside, which is by Ballydown Magnus.

Standing reserve in the sheep lines was the Suffolk champion from Andy and Susie Simpson, Wester Coxton Farm, Elgin, Moray. They were placed reserve with a home-bred two-crop ewe which is by Lakeview Leeroy and out of a Burnside ewe.

Lastly in the equine classes the supreme horse title was awarded to the Clydesdale champion. The rosettes were awarded to a two-year-old filly – Arradoul Caol Ila – from Ian G Young, of Wellheads, Clochan, by Buckie.

She is by Collessie Stepping Stone and out of Arradoul Symphony. She stood champion at Turriff last week.
