Young Farmers from Strichen Junior Agricultural Club (JAC) have retained their Grampian Rally crown for a fifth consecutive year.
The sun shone for an action-packed day at Echt Showground.
It was hosted by West Aberdeenshire members of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers’ Clubs (SAYFC). And more than 200 SAYFC members from 16 clubs took part.
They competed for prizes in activities ranging from stock judging, construction and field sports to arts and crafts.
Gordon Hutcheon, of event sponsor AJC Construction, Aboyne, said: “The entertainment and skills on display were superb.
“I was brought up on a farm so to be involved in such a worthwhile cause and support the next generation means a lot”.
Strichen JAC powered ahead of their rivals, winning with 123.5 points.
Garioch JAC (82.5 points) and Vale of Alford (78) were second and third respectively.

The trophy for best small club was won by Garioch JAC.
Stock judging competition winners were Strichen A’s team of David Moir, James Lowe and Stuart Ross.

And the cup for best individual in the stock judging section was won by Finlay Hunter, of Garioch JAC.
The day’s events concluded with a tug o’ war, which saw six women’s and 10 men’s teams competing for the top spots.

Strathbogie are the new men’s and women’s tug o’ war champions of Grampian.
Meanwhile, Callum Simpson, of Garioch JAC, was crowned SAYFC Young Farmer of the Year for the Grampian region. He goes forward to national finals later this year.
SAYFC north region chairwoman Ellen Glennie said: “It was a fantastic, sunny day and I’m delighted with the level of entries and sportsmanship on display from all of the Grampian clubs.”
