Offshore worker suffers ‘serious injury’ during lifting operations

An oil company has been served with an improvement notice after an offshore worker suffered a serious injury on a North Sea platform.

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) said the incident took place on May 6 on Chevron’s Alba Northern installation.

Lifting operations were ongoing when a member of the deck crew was injured.
